Head Coach’s Report May 2025

We are delighted to officially welcome Scott Rowe as Head Coach of Mercantile Rowing Club. Scott’s appointment began on June 16th, and we are thrilled to have someone of his calibre leading the next chapter of our club’s high-performance program.

While Scott’s official start is mid-June, he has already hit the ground running. Since the start of the month, he has been acting as Senior Coach of the Australian Rowing Team’s “Australia A” squad, having competed at the World Rowing Cup in Varese, Italy. He will also be coaching this group again at the upcoming Lucerne World Cup, helping shape some of the country’s most promising athletes.

Scott will be back on deck at Mercs in early July, ready to take the reins and guide the next generation of Mercantile athletes with purpose and ambition. His international experience, leadership, and passion for athlete development will be invaluable as we look ahead to the 2025/2026 domestic season and beyond.

We look forward to seeing Scott working with our athletes on the Yarra and driving Mercantile forward into its next era of success.
