July has been a month of immense pride for Mercantile Rowing Club. We’re thrilled to officially announce the launch of our Junior Performance Program for the 2025/26 season. This program is designed to develop the next generation of top-tier athletes at our club. Any junior rowers interested in being considered for this program are encouraged to get in touch with Head Coach Scott Rowe, Youth Coaches Tom Creber and Ed Ryan, or Club Captain Alex Clarke.
On the international front, the World Rowing Under 23 Championships have officially concluded. We extend our warmest congratulations to our amazing athletes Summer Kellett (cox) and Anna Morrison for their representation of Australia. Summer, returning from last year’s U23 campaign, joined teammates Tiffany Botha, Chloe Cooper, Imogen Grey, Theodora Coull, Hannah Richardson, Sarah Marriott, and Lucy Searle in the coxed eight. Finishing eighth overall, their dedication and performance on the world stage are a credit to them and an inspiration to all at Mercantile.
Looking forward, the focus is now squarely on recruitment and building our squads for the 2025/26 season. I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to all our coaches, volunteers, and members for their continued hard work and unwavering support. Your efforts are what make Mercantile the special and successful club it is.
Alex Clarke – Captain
