The Guerin Club kicked off the official season in true Mercantile style—with BBQs, beers, and plenty of energy around the boathouse. The men’s squad has wasted no time getting back into bigger boats, with returning members mixing in alongside new recruits from schools and even overseas. This blend of fresh faces and experienced Clubbies has given the group a real boost as we set sights on a busy racing calendar. The Women’s squad has welcomed more new faces to the programme, with a strong sqaud leading into the spring racing calendar.
A comprehensive race program has now been unveiled, with the squad targeting both Melbourne-based regattas and multilane races, as well as key country events. The variety promises plenty of racing opportunities and a strong build-up to the big end-of-season events. That said, we’re still looking to expand our group. If you’re keen to row a few times a week, get in some quality racing, and share in the unique Guerin Club camaraderie, now is the time to get on board. The more, the merrier—so come and join the Clubbies family this season.
